Overview
Roselle (Hibiscus sabdariffa) roots quickly from green stem cuttings, making it one of the easiest tropical edibles to propagate.
Method
- Take 6-8 inch tip cuttings from healthy plants
- Remove lower leaves and any flower buds
- Root in moist perlite or directly in soil
- Roots develop in 2-3 weeks
Growing On
Once rooted, roselle grows rapidly. Plants can reach 4-6 feet in a single season.
Florida Notes
Roselle thrives in Florida summers. Time cuttings for spring planting.
